Hey there! Welcome to Legitly Lanie, where I explore real life happiness. I’m Lanie and I’m from Oklahoma City! As a oil and natural gas family, I moved around a lot growing up, but Oklahoma has generally always been my home. I have a masters degree in Human Relations focused on Clinical Mental Health Counseling, which has inspired the idea of pursuing realistic goals that lead to happiness.
After graduating college I landed a job I thought would be the perfect beginning for my career, and bought a house to set down roots in OKC. Less than 6 months in, I realized all of my friends had moved away, were getting promotions, and looked like they were living their best lives on social media. Meanwhile, I felt isolated, struggling in my career, and felt like I wasn’t doing anything for myself to feel happy.
And then… *dun dun dun* the pandemic started, and like many of us, my goals and situation changed. I was forced to really confront the feelings of isolation and lack of joy I felt in my life. Post grad life is not all it is cracked up to be. I chose to begin Legitly Lanie as a place for other people who feel the confusing, lonely, and frustrating challenges of being a 20-something who are just looking for support, community, and ways to stay motivated and happy.
I hope my journey of learning what true self care looks like can help YOU find your purpose, happiness, and self care routine you’ve been missing.
